NC State’s wellness strategy is designed to build a thriving Pack at all levels of the university. With a focus on programs and services, fostering community, academics and awareness, we work to transform wellness within the Wolfpack.

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FASAP)

The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FASAP) is a free and confidential service for you and your dependents. Specialists provide qualified referrals and resources for just about anything on your to-do list. Examples include, finding child/elder care, home repair contractors, planning events, locating pet care, and personal or family counseling.

Counseling Center Referral Service

The NC State Counseling Center offers a referral database of community mental health providers through MiResource.

Each provider was invited and vetted by NC State Counseling Center staff. This directory is available to anyone looking for mental health care in their community. 

On Campus Pharmacy

The Campus Health Pharmacy provides lower out-of-pocket costs for medications compared to off-campus pharmacies. Providers outside of Campus Health can send their prescription to our pharmacy electronically, by phone, or the patient can bring in a hard copy of a prescription.

Campus Smiles (Full Service, On-Site Dental Offices)

Campus Smiles is an independent affiliate of NC State University. Their dental care team is made up of an experienced group of licensed professionals who are committed to providing the NC State community with the highest quality, most convenient and affordable dental care available.

Lactation Rooms

NC State has 27 designated lactation rooms across multiple campuses.   See Lactation Support Guidelines for information about the requirements for lactation spaces at NC State and guidelines regarding paid break time, as well as the NC Office of State Human Resources policy.

Recreation & Leisure

Carmichael Gym

Employees and their household members can join the campus Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym.

All memberships can be purchased in person at the Wellness and Recreation Center.

Challenge Course and Teambuilding

Wellness and Recreation offers a variety of team and leadership development programs to university groups, community organizations and corporate groups. Teambuilding programs include a Low Ropes Course, High Ropes Course, Combo Ropes Course, Keep Talking! Workshop, Unlock the Box Workshop, and other Traditional Team Building experiences.

The Outdoor Adventure team can assist your group in determining which program best meets your needs, and find a date and time that works for you. All reservations must be made at least two (2) weeks before your desired program date to provide adequate staff and facilities.

Lonnie Poole Golf Course

Lonnie Poole Golf Course is the only collegiate golf course in the world designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer. This public course is playable for all skill levels and a challenge to low handicap players. Review available Tee Times and check out the Daily Rates to plan your round.

Faculty/Staff Walking Club

Join your colleagues for a lovely walk down to the NC State greenway. We’ll meet outside the Starbucks at Talley Student Union and walk down the greenway to Pullen Park and back. The route is approximately 1.4 miles. All are welcome to participate. Scheduled walks are posted on the University calendar.

Wolves on the Run

Wolves on the Run welcomes all faculty, staff, students and community members for a weekly run or walk together on Walnut Creek Trail. Participants of all paces meet by the Lake Raleigh dock every Thursday at 5:15 p.m., rain or shine — or in other conditions.

Lake Raleigh Recreation Area

On the southern side of Centennial Campus, the Lake Raleigh Recreation Area — which includes 96 acres of protected forest — offers a picturesque retreat for members of the Pack and the wider community.

Lake Raleigh’s recreation area sits in the heart of NC State’s Centennial Campus and offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor exploration, including hiking, biking, picnics, disc golf, fishing, non-motorized boating and watersports.

Arts NC State

At NC State, the arts are for everyone!

The arts are a vital part of education, and NC State University recognizes the importance of fostering art programs- both for students and the larger community. NC State invites students and the community to participate in arts programs and productions.

  • NC State LIVE
    • NC State LIVE has established a regional and national reputation for presenting a professional performing arts season of the highest artistic excellence. See the list of upcoming events, and purchase tickets by visiting NC State LIVE. Staff and Faculty can enjoy discounts on tickets!
  • Crafts Center
    • The Crafts Center’s mission is to provide hands-on, immersive, life-long learning skills to NC State students, faculty and staff, affiliates, alumni and the general public to support research, enhance critical thinking through creativity, and strengthen personal and professional development.
    • The Crafts Center functions as an art school specializing in crafts. One of the six programs comprising Arts NC State, the center provides a comprehensive range of offerings, including classes, workshops, events, studio use, mentorship and technical advisement.

Faculty and Staff Ombuds

The Faculty & Staff Ombuds Office is independent, impartial, informal and confidential. The office operates pursuant to Standards and Ethics from the International Ombuds Association.

Feed the Pack Food Pantry

The mission of the Feed the Pack Food Pantry is to help meet the food needs of all members of the NC State community with dignity and respect.
Feed the Pack is the supplemental food pantry on NC State’s campus. Feed the Pack is student-led and open to all members of the campus community.

Mobile Barber Truck

Centennial Campus now hosts The Mobile Barber Truck every Wednesday.

The truck will be parked in front of Venture Place on Main Campus Drive from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Passport Services

NC State Global offers Passport Fairs in both the Fall and Spring. These fairs are for students, staff, faculty, and their families who need to apply for a new passport, or renew a minor passport.

If you need a passport and the Fairs do not work for your schedule, please consult the Passport Resources for guidance on applying for a passport in the Raleigh area.

Wolfpack Gives

The NC State Staff Senate is dedicated to fostering a culture of giving and support within our university.
