NC State has partnered with eduroam, an international group of universities and research institutions, to provide globally portable wireless service to our students, staff, and faculty members. The eduroam network provides secure and encrypted access to the internet and our campus resources.

Computer Loan Program
In support of staff development, the NC State University Staff Senate provides a Computer Loan Program for qualifying NC State staff members. This program provides computers to employees who may have limited access to develop computer skills and who want to take classes or expand their knowledge in ways that are mutually beneficial to themselves and the university. The Staff Senate Computer Loan Committee manages this initiative.
Technology Lending
The Technology Lending program at the NC State University Libraries aims to help increase student and employee access to technology and technological literacy.

Makerspace
NC State offers two Makerspace locations for your convenience.
The D.H. Hill Jr. Library Makerspace is located on the first floor, offering students, staff, and faculty a hands-on space to explore the world of making. With access to 3D printers, low-fidelity electronics, sewing machines, a laser cutter, and more, there are tools and materials for every project.
The James B. Hunt Jr. Library Maker Studio is located on the fourth floor. This space gives students, faculty, and staff hands-on access to the tools, technologies, and skills of making, including 3D printers, low fidelity prototyping supplies, electronics, sewing machines, and many other tools and materials.
The Makerspaces are always staffed whenever it’s open, so you can drop by for expert assistance, consultations, or anything else that you might need.
First-time visitors must complete an online orientation before visiting the Makerspace.
Digital Media Production Spaces
The Libraries offers a wide range of Digital Media Production support and Digital Media Production Spaces, to include an Assistive Technology Center, Audio Booths and Rooms, Digital Media Lab and Studio, and a VR room.
Gaming & VR
The Libraries offers several to experience Gaming & Virtual Reality for professional and personal development or leisure.

Software & Skills
Digital Access and Inclusion Project
Staff Senate’s Employee Experience and Relations Committee oversees the Digital Access and Inclusion Project. The goal is to ensure equitable participation and full community engagement at the University by increasing digital access and knowledge for NC State employees who do not use computers regularly in their jobs.
Discounted Computer Software
NC State University pays for some software licenses that allow affiliated faculty and staff to download the software onto their personal and state-owned computers. Visit NC State’s Office of Information Technology’s software page(Unity ID login required) to view software available to employees to download onto personal computers. Click on the software that you would like to download for more information and instructions.
