Classification and Compensation

Classification and Compensation develops and administers services, programs, and consultative solutions centered around thoughtful human resources principles and practices; optimizing processes and systems for classification and designing for our campus partners in order to create a knowledgeable and empowered community.

Compensation Philosophy

NC State’s people are one of the University’s greatest strengths. Our ability to deliver world-class research and quality education for our students will depend on our ability to attract, develop and retain world-class talent. At NC State University, our values drive our pay practices and compensation philosophy. We value the work of our people and  understand that pay practices must deliver equitable, transparent and market competitive compensation, and be responsive to changing markets, organizational needs and priorities and demonstrate sound financial stewardship.

Two types of faculty positions exist at NCSU – those with tenure considerations and those without tenure considerations.
