QuickStart University Business Practices Program
QuickStart is a University Business Practices Certificate Program that covers the basic business practices and processes of NC State University.
Program Description and Overview
The QuickStart program is designed for employees seeking a broad understanding of the administrative, business, financial, and operational functions at NC State University. The program consists of four modules, offering flexibility for participants to select dates for each session. Upon successful completion of all four modules, participants will receive a certificate of completion. If a session is missed, it can be rescheduled through REPORTER.
Key Objectives of the QuickStart Program
- Provide a comprehensive overview of NC State University’s business practices.
- Acquaint both new and current employees with the University’s policies and procedures.
- Introduce the core software systems and tools essential for administrative operations.
- Highlight the professional development resources available to employees.
- Facilitate access to University Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other key resources.
- Promote networking among participants to foster ongoing communication and peer support.
Program Outcomes
By completing the QuickStart program, participants will:
- Understand the key business processes required for effective work at NC State University.
- Be informed about available channels for further training based on personal and professional interests.
- Identify the appropriate contacts for obtaining additional information or support when needed.
Registration
Participants must register for QuickStart with their NC State Employee credentials in REPORTER.
Program Cost
Participation in the QuickStart program is free of charge.

The Administrative Professionals Program is a dynamic, skills-based training initiative designed to prepare individuals for success in various administrative roles, such as executive assistant, office manager, and administrative assistant. This comprehensive program equips participants with the tools and knowledge to effectively manage office operations, communicate with professionalism, and leverage technology to enhance productivity. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to refine your existing skills, the program provides invaluable resources for thriving in today’s fast-paced work environment.
Beyond skill development, the program emphasizes professional growth, well-being, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Participants will learn effective strategies for managing stress, prioritizing tasks, and fostering personal resilience, all while excelling in their roles.
