Retirement Recognition Program

Staff and faculty who meet minimum service years requirements may be recognized with a commemorative gift upon retiring from NC State. Certificate options are also available for eligible retiring employees.

Eligibility

Staff and faculty who retire from NC State after having worked for at least twenty (20) years in a benefits-eligible position at the university are eligible to receive a retirement gift from the University to commemorate their service. Staff and faculty who retire from NC State after having worked for at least ten (10) years in a benefits-eligible position at the university are eligible to receive a certificate signed by the Governor of North Carolina and NC State Chancellor.

Selection and Ordering Process

Retirees have the option of choosing from six gifts, which are shipped to the retiree’s preferred address, the month they retire. Retirees should contact their assigned benefits consultant for information on the Retiree Gift Order Form.

Retirement Certificates

As a token of appreciation, departments may wish to present a retiring employee with a certificate signed by the Governor of North Carolina and NC State Chancellor. To be eligible, retiring University staff and faculty must have at least 10 years of state service. Retirement certificates are automatically ordered by the HR-Benefits Office each month for retiring employees. Department’s may choose to purchase a frame for their retiring employee’s certificate. Certificate measurements are 11″ x 14″. Suggested framing options are listed below:
