PNC WorkPlace Banking
PNC Bank, N.A. and North Carolina State University announced in September 2017 that PNC will be the official bank of NC State University. Expanding its longstanding relationship with NC State, PNC will provide on-campus banking, as well as offer free financial literacy and education programs to more than 42,000 students, faculty and staff.

State Employees’ Credit Union
As an employee of NC State University, you and your immediate family are eligible to become member-owners of State Employees’ Credit Union! A $25 share account (your membership account), allows you to take advantage of SECU’s excellent rates and services. SECU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by the state and public school employees of North Carolina and their families. SECU has been providing consumer financial services for more than 70 years and serves nearly 1.7 million members. Some of thier services include:
- Checking- Provides a competitive interest rate, no minimum balance requirement, unlimited debits, overdraft protection, 50 online BillPay transactions per month and photo debit card!
- Mortgage Loans- SECU offers several adjustable and fixed rate mortgage options to members. A first time Home-buyer loan is also available for members who have not owned a home in the past three years and the STAR mortgage is an option for new or relocating State and Public School System employees.
- New and Used Vehicle Loans- Financing is available on new and used vehicles at great rates and affordable loan terms. SECU lends up to 110% of the MSRP or NADA retail value, to assist with the cost of taxes, tags, and warranties.

- FASAP – Financial Information and Resources: The faculty and staff assistance program (FASAP) provides support and resources for employees personal and work-life issues. Speak by phone with Certified Public Accountants and Certified Financial Planners on a wide range of financial related issues. Learn more.
- On-Campus Financial Planners – Meet with representatives from our retirement plan vendors for financial and retirement related advice. These financial advisors meet with employees at no cost. Learn more.
Staff Senate Financial Support Programs
- Employee Emergency Loan Program – NC State faculty, staff, county employees, house officers and postdoctoral scholars to borrow money for short-term emergencies. Eligible employees can apply for a short-term loan and must pay the loan back via payroll deduction. Learn more.
- Computer Loan Program – In support of staff development, the NC State University Staff Senate provides a Computer Loan Program for qualifying NC State staff members. This program provides computers to employees who may have limited access to develop computer skills and who want to take classes or expand their knowledge in ways that are mutually beneficial to themselves and the university.
