NCFlex Vision Plan
The NCFlex Vision Plan offers three plan levels of benefits, administered by EyeMed Vision Care. Participants in this plan can choose in-network providers or out-of-network providers. See below for plan comparisons and information, or visit the NCFlex website for complete details.
Eligibility
Faculty and staff (non-temp) who work 20 hours per week (.5 FTE) or greater are eligible to enroll in the this plan. Employees pay full cost for employee coverage in addition to any dependent coverage selected.
Effective Dates of Coverage
Employees must enroll within 30 days of their hire date or within 30 days of a qualified life event. Waiting periods may apply outside of the newly hired initial 30-day eligibility period.
Start of Coverage
Coverage begins the first of the month following your hire/start date or event date.
End of Coverage
Coverage will end on the last day of the month in which your employment ends. For example, if your last day of work is March 20, your coverage would end on March 31.
Premiums and Enrollment

Employees can choose from three coverage levels:
- Core Wellness
- Employee Only
- Employee + Family (may be employee + spouse, employee + children or employee + family)
Enrollment is done through the NCFlex online enrollment system, via MyPack portal. Visit HRNow for detailed enrollment instructions.
