Whether you’ve been working on or off campus, this past year has been anything but normal for us. Our Wolfpack family has been a reflection of the world around it — practicing physical distancing and wearing face coverings to protect us from COVID-19. The COVID-19 pandemic limited our ability to attend social gatherings and other activities and transformed work-life in ways we could not have imagined before. But through it all, we have persevered, endured and succeeded. Thanks in large part to our resolve and determination, we are gradually returning to normalcy. The Pack is coming back and preparations are underway for a fall semester we are much more accustomed to experiencing.
Howl You Know wanted to know what our colleagues were looking forward to this fall semester. Here are some of the replies we received:
I am looking forward to seeing my colleagues. I have not seen many of them since the start of the pandemic, not even on on a zoom. I have come to appreciate so many of them and being able to share a moment face-to-face would be very rewarding.
College of Education – Dean’s Office
I am looking forward to seeing our beautiful campus! There are numerous beautiful areas on campus and I enjoy seeing all the trees, shrubs and plants in bloom.
Materials Science and Engineering
I’ve been back on campus for a while and can’t wait to just see more people around, especially our students. I’m also happy that my daughter Hannah, a junior here at NC State, will return to a more normal campus and academic life. Last but not least, I look forward to just grabbing lunch with my friends and colleagues soon.
Division of Academic and Student Affairs – Human Resources
It’s simple, Peggy Olive! This young lady started working for the Graduate School in 1968 and shows no sign of slowing down. I can’t wait to hear her infectious laugh and see her smiling face soon.
The Graduate School
I am most looking forward to seeing our campus full with students, and to sending them abroad! As we are planning for the return to normal operations for the fall semester, the Study Abroad Office is eager to once again be able to offer study abroad opportunities, as many of our students expect it as part of their college experience. We’re looking forward to resuming student mobility, where reasonable and risk is manageable, to ensure more students can take part in this transformative academic experience!
Having a bustling campus, seeing coworkers I haven’t seen in a while and having my daughter as a first year student in Exploratory Studies. I also look forward to seeing my staff.
Reengaging with my outstanding colleagues and leadership throughout the university. I look forward to spending time with the great people I’ve developed relationships with throughout the many years spent at NC State. Go Pack!
