NC State Gives Away More Than 2,300 Meals During Employee Appreciation Event

Employee Appreciation Event

NC State gave away more than 2,300 meals to employees who showed up for a giveaway outside Reynolds Coliseum on State Employee Appreciation Day, which was May 5. Volunteers, including Chancellor Randy Woodson, members of his cabinet and representatives from University Human Resources, handed employees a meal and two gifts — a waterproof bag and a game — as they snaked through the Dunn Avenue loop in their vehicles. “Employee Appreciation Day has always been one of my favorite university events,” said Margot Henion, a senior benefits consultant in UHR. “This one was particularly fun because it was a drive-by event. It was great to see and interact with employees and brighten their day.” In addition to the 2,300 meals that volunteers distributed outside the coliseum, the university provided about 200 meals for staff members in Facilities and more than 600 meals for employees in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
