COVID-19 Shared Leave Bank

NCSU Belltower

Employees who have exhausted their current and future leave time can receive leave time from NC State’s COVID-19 Voluntary Shared Leave Bank if they meet certain criteria.

In addition to being out of leave time, employees must meet one of the following criteria:

  • The employee is needed to provide child care because a child care facility is closed or unavailable due to COVID-19.
  • The employee is needed to provide child care because the employee’s child attends a school that is providing a combination of online and in-person instruction or is only providing online instruction.
  • The employee is needed to provide elder care because an elder care facility is closed or unavailable due to COVID-19.
  • The employee is unable to telework due to the nature of the employee’s job duties.

To request hours, visit the shared leave bank webpage and fill out the request form.

If you are a leave-earning employee and would like to donate hours to the shared leave bank, visit the webpage and fill out the donation form.

As of Sept. 11, employees had donated 12,696 hours to the shared leave bank.
