UHR to Host Virtual Ready to Retire Workshop

Reconnect with the Pack

University Human Resources will host its annual Ready to Retire workshop Sept. 18 from 1-4 p.m.

The workshop will take place via Zoom due to NC State’s restriction on the number of people who can gather at one time (50 people for any event, indoors or outdoors) to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Up to 300 employees often attend Ready to Retire workshops.

If you would like access to this year’s workshop, use this form to register. UHR will email registrants a Zoom link that will allow them to view the workshop. The workshop will be recorded and made available for employees who can’t attend.

Ready to Retire prepares NC State employees for the retirement process. All employees are welcome to attend Ready to Retire, but employees who are thinking about retiring in the next five to seven years are strongly encouraged to come to a session.

Representatives from TIAA, Fidelity and Prudential will present retirement savings strategies and other retirement-related advice during the workshop. Sessions on the following topics also will be offered:

  • Retiree health insurance options.
  • The Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System.
  • The University of North Carolina Optional Retirement Program.

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions after each workshop session and before the workshop ends. UHR will follow up with participants whose questions aren’t answered.
